Hold Up Their Hands

Hold Up Their Hands

“And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”  Exodus 17:11

As we were discussing the shows during Easter someone asked “Who is Ben-Hur?”

It caused me to do a search and I found out he was one of the twelve soldiers for Solomon in charge of supplies. It also said “He was the son of Hur”.

Hur was with Aaron who held up the arms of Moses as Joshua fought Amalek.

Aaron and Hur

“But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side, and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.” Exodus 17:12

When I was reading this account of the battle that took place and the support that Moses had from his assistants (congregation) I became burdened to pray how I can come along side my Pastor.

I thought about the amount of study he has done and the excellent job he did to help us grasp the true meaning of Easter.

I can only imagine the energy levels in our Pastors lives and ministry being depleted after such an important task of not only “feeding the sheep” but also the opportunity to present the Gospel to the lost in that window of time that people will come to church.

So if you feel lead, pray how you might be able to hold up their arms.

May I suggest a note of encouragement or a gift card for him and his wife to enjoy a meal out? “Just sayin”. Rob Russomano is a graduate of the Colony of Mercy and serves on our full-time staff. He is a regular Freedom Fighter Blogger

Quote of the day:  Lord Jesus, you embraced your cross to redeem the world. Help me to embrace the crosses in my life — the hardships, struggles, disappointments, pain. Only by recognizing my own weakness, can I discover your strength. Anonymous

Bible Memory: You have dealt well with your servant, O Lord, according to Your word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe Your commandments. Psalm 119:65-66

YES, THANKS FOR THIS MESSAGE THIS MORNING. I RECALL VERY WELL THE GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT THAT WOULD COME FROM A SIMPLE CARD FROM ONE OF MY CONGREGATION. IT WOULD ENCOURAGE ME THAT INDEED MY EFFORTS FOR THE THE LORD WERE BEING HEARD AND UNDERSTOOD. THOUGHOUT MY MINISTRY IT WAS NOT THE PRAISE AT THE VESTIBULE DOOR AS PEOPLE LEFT, NO IT WAS THE LITTLE THINGS FROM DAY TO DAY. YES, PRAISE THE “LORD” HE IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL, BUT A LTLLE ENCOURAGEMENT FROM THOSE WHOM YOU ARE SERVING IS A REAL BOOST.
