God Was Faithful. God Is Faithful. God Will Be Faithful

God Was Faithful. God IS Faithful. God Will Be Faithful

This week one of my dear friends is facing open heart surgery to deal with three blockages and an aneurysm. Yesterday it hit me that the timing of this is very ironic since five years ago today we faced a similar issue with our granddaughter Lindsay.

The day before her surgery, the Lord spoke to my heart through His Word while reading Scriptures posted years ago in the little daily devotional, Daily Light on the Daily Path:

God is Faithful

We … rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all tribulation. Believing you rejoice with joy inexpressible. Romans 5:2-3;

God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

We do not lose heart. Though the outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. – 2 Corinthians 4:16

In Him we love and move and have our being. He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. – Acts 17:28; Isaiah 40:29-31; Deuteronomy 33:27

Five years after Lindsay’s first open heart surgery I can tell you that God WAS faithful to His word! Because of all He taught us, I can tell you that TODAY God IS faithful!

And to my dear friends, Pastor Van and Laurel Van Sandt, I can tell you that when Van has his open heart surgery on Wednesday, God WILL BE faithful!

Whatever you may be facing today, this week or in the future – you can count on HIS faithfulness!

How has He demonstrated His faithfulness to you? I’d love to hear about it.

Running the race with joy,

Daily Bible Reading: Leviticus 11-12; Hebrews 10:1-18

Quote of the day: Live in the presence of God and you too will have the eyes of Abraham. Eyes that are always alert to the unexpected. Eyes that see God’s actions in petty annoyances and even in tragedies. Eyes that trust. And eyes that continue seeking whenever they are tempted to turn inwards. Glen Argan

Bible Memory: It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. Psalm 119:71-72 ESV
