Right Thinking

Right Thinking

Today we welcome a new blogger to our Freedom Fighter team. Joe Freeman is a graduate of the Colony of Mercy and continues to grow in his walk with the Lord. For the past several months Joe has battled many physical challenges. Through it all, he has walked victoriously.

It is 6 am and I am starting another day in which the Lord will teach me more about Him and what my commitment to Jesus Christ truly means.   So many of my days have been spent figuring out how God wanted me or needed me to work for Him.  II Corinthians 6:1 states:  We then as workers together WITH Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain (emphasis mine).  Such a tiny word “with”, yet such a large one in terms of serving as a game changer.  Our Lord does not require and, most importantly, does not need me to work for Him.  He does quite well running things without the input of Joe Freeman, and He does not need my self-important views or suggestions.  My personal history shows that my Father spends more time correcting my work than needing it!

My reason for sharing this is that we as Christian workers get so frustrated in trying to make our mark in life or in pleasing God.  It is vital that we recognize, acknowledge, and then live the fact that we cannot make God love us any more or any less than He already does.  No amount of works, self-imposed or dictated by others, will influence His almighty love for us.  We need look no further than that one act on that one day in that one moment at Calvary to know beyond any doubt that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that we could spend an eternity in devoted fellowship with our loving Father (John 3:16), that we were fearfully and wonderfully made, that our inward parts were specifically and uniquely formed (You knit me together in my mother’s womb (Ps 139:13).) He loves us and we have value because He sees us as valuable.

So get out of bed and tell your Father “Good morning,”  thank Him for Jesus, and praise Him that He has given us His Holy Spirit so that we may discern where His light is. Then have the courage and enthusiasm to go and join Him in His work for His purpose.  Let’s be kids, pack a lunch, and put on our work clothes as we go celebrate and enjoy working with our Dad at His job.  Let’s stop complicating the simple process of love and begin to share it on a daily basis.

Father, I thank you for the simple things, like a hot cup of coffee, electricity, paper and pen, and Your love which is free, available, and abundant.  Thank You for blessing me with all of these things.  Teach me how to pass it on and share with others.  Amen

Team YOU: Ezekiel 30-32; Proverbs 27; 1 Peter 4

Motivations: As the pipe that is used to convey clean water is itself kept clean by the water which passes through it, so those, who through the Holy Spirit carry the Water of Life to others, are themselves purified and become heirs to the kingdom of God.  Sadhu Sundar Singh

Practice to Remember: Level 1: James 4:6  Level 2: James 4:1-6

Powered Up:  Every time we pray our horizon is altered, out attitude to things is altered, not sometimes but every time, and the amazing thing is that we don’t pray more. Oswald Chambers
