Less Talk and More Walk
“For the word of God is living and powerful, And sharper than any two-edged sword…” Hebrews 4:12
We are all familiar with the clichés, “talk is cheap” and “put your money where your mouth is”. When it come to the time Jesus spent on earth it was anything but just talk.
It’s been an eye opening experience going thru the Gospel of John. Jesus is all about doing His Father’s business and not so much about explaining His title. In chapter 10 it says “Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly”. In which Jesus replies, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me”.
“The works that I do.” It seems to me that the “Word of God” is an action, it’s what God did for us, not just talked about. I’ve been more attentive to the meaning of His word to be a testimony of the work that was done for me.
Most of us have been let down by broken promises and have let others down as well. Let this be an encouragement, God is true to His word, mainly because it’s already been finished. When a man comes to me with uncertainties about his future I simply tell him “if you’re is walking in Gods truth his future is already done”. In other words, If dinner is on the table and you’re in the den worrying about eating it’s time to walk in the dining room.
The next time you’re in His Word remember you’re reading about the eyewitness account of your salvation. “The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple” Psalm 19:7. The responsibility we have is to “keep” His testimony, make it ours and walk in such a way that the world will know our salvation is secure because the work is DONE!
Now I realize we have bad days, but when bad days turn into bad weeks, months and years I have to ask, what book are you reading? God’s word is a reminder of the great things to come so don’t be tripped up by the circumstances and trials. Peter tells us in his first letter “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ”. If you’re struggling today maybe God’s revelation needs an illumination in your heart.
Shine the light of God’s word in those dark areas of your life and let the “work” that Jesus did be kept alive in you! – Rob Russomano is a graduate of the Colony of Mercy and serves full-time at America’s Keswick

Think About This: Take heart, be encouraged, for Lord is going to reveal himself to you in these days ahead. This season of your life has brought you to this very place, to where you will begin to hunger again for the deep things of God. Mark Sadler
This Week’s Verse to Memorize: Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ … 1 Peter 1:13
